Day of Prayer for Vocations at
St. Francis Xavier Major Seminary...
You are invited!
COME and pray with the Catholic Church for more vocations to the priesthood and for our priests. The Day of Prayer for Vocations, the second to be held this year, will be on Saturday, 28 October, at the St. Francis Xavier Major Seminary, from 2.30pm to 7pm. Incidentally, the first Day of Prayer for Vocations this year was held on 6 May at the Cathedral of the Good Shepherd in conjunction with Good Shepherd Sunday and the World Day of Prayer for Vocations.
The Day of Prayers is organised by the seminarians together with the Archdiocesan Vocation Team, Serra Club of Singapore and supported by Amplify (formerly called “Youth Praise Ministry”). The theme chosen for the prayers is “Vocation in the Mystery of the Church” and is based on Pope Benedict XIV’s message on World Day of Prayers for Vocation. The afternoon will be filled with praise and worship, intercessory prayers for our priests, seminarians and for more young men to answer God’s Call, sharing of a vocation story by a seminarian and spiritual inputs by a priest. There will be exposition of the Blessed Sacrament as well.
We hope you can join us. It may just be an afternoon for you to pray and have fellowship with other parishioners but to the Church, your prayers would be precious and would certainly go a long way to help the current grim situation the Church in Singapore is facing.
